Founded in 1975, Photo Micrographics originally provided central New York with microfilm processing, supplies and paper to film conversion services. Conversion ranged from MIL SPEC 35 mm to 16mm business documents.

Within ten years, a wide variety of micrographic hardware was added to assist our market with micrographic records management needs. Several well-known brands are represented by Photo Micrographics to this day.

Canon Image Filing Systems, Fujifilm, Anacomp and 3M are a few of the equipment manufacturers that Photo Micrographics provides for its clients.

1985 also saw an expansion by Photo Micrographics into the Syracuse area. Both a document conversion facility and a sales office opened in the city to provide sales and service for all of the manufacturer's hardware.

In 1990, Photo Micrographics became authorized by Canon and others to sell and service the Capital district of New York. Now with three offices dedicated to providing the highest quality of microfilm services, supplies and hardware, PMI was ready for the next step.

Electronic Document Imaging was becoming more and more popular for its shared access and high productivity aspects. When PMI decided to start providing Electronic Document Imaging to its ever expanding client base, it chose Optika Imaging Systems, Inc., based in Colorado Springs, CO. Soon, Canon Image Filing Systems joined with PMI to provide the very popular Canofile Electronic Filing System CF-250 for entry level and departmental applications. Docuware was then added to the PMI family, with its ever expanding module list and continued development and innovation, Docuware  has become our most popular imaging application.

In 1998, PMI expanded yet again, with another office, now serving the entire state of Vermont with all our product lines.

Photo Micrographics has seen many changes since 1975, but one thing has stayed constant. The mission to provide the best equipment, services, supplies, integration and systems to assist our clients with all of their records management needs is Photo Micrographics continuing quest.
